A Guide for Another Galapagos Islands Star: Santa Cruz!

Hola, amigos! Here i am as i promised, with my new blog about Santa Cruz of Galapagos islands! We talked about San Cristobal on my last blog. If you didn't read it, i recommend to you read it too for Galapagos island rules! Dear friends, Santa Cruz is one of really famous Galapagos islands. It's second bigger island after than Isabella. Let's take a look more.

Santa Cruz is tourism centre all of Galapagos islands dear friends. Their city centre called Puerto Ayora is most crowded city centre all of Galapagos islands too. As far as i remember, attitude of this island is 860 meters. If you want to come this island from San Cristobal like us, you need to do a boat trip! If you feel dizzy while boat traveling, i suggest you prepare yourself for this. Because it was approximately two-two and half hours and my wife was felt it a lot. But for me was perfect! 😊

While you going to Santa Cruz from San Cristobal, you're watching to a little island Santa Fe too. It was so enjoyed for me. After two-two and half hours, you're arrived to Santa Cruz. Your guide is welcomes to you in the port and bring you at your hotel by a car. And then he/she explain to your programs and their hours.

Dear friends, Santa Cruz has a little main street. All of important agency companies, restaurants, bars, shops and more are located on this street. Moreover, you can visit and take pictures front  of the a fisherman and a big turtle statues! Fishery is common very much in this island, that's why you can see too fishing stalls around of the statues. Don't be surprise if you see a looot oofff seals because they're laying all over the coastals. 😊

You can find many of companies here about boat tours. One of local guy told me, the best way to understand all of islands is ship-tour for 5 days or 1 week. If you haven't time or money for this, you can choose a daily tour for diving goggles and snorkel, swimming with sharks and more.

Alright guys, your other option is taxies for your transportation here! Places for visiting are not far away too much. That's why, taxi prices are affortable and will be more comfortable for you. And also you can rent bicycles in Santa Cruz. Many of places give you this option for you. There is bicycle road too, in this reason you can ride your bicycle as easily!

Dear friends, you can visit Estacion Cientifica Charles Darwin in Santa Cruz, i recommend strongly to this. Here is most popular point of this island. This biologycal research center is giving you important informations about ecologycal and biologycal structure of Galapagos. Moreover, you can visit various of big turtles and growing little turtles too inside in the zoo connected of this centre!

Don't forget to visit room of turtle Lonely George! It called lonely because it was last of it's kind, dear friends! It species went extinct when it death. That's why, it's room is important. You can take it picture but be careful to your flash-ligth. You can't use flash-light while taking photo!

Playa de la Estacion is located near to the Charles Darwin research center. You can go there if you visiting to research center because it's connecting to the Playa de la Estacion. You can diving here with your goggles and snorkel. It has wonderful underwater views. And also good to swimming with sea iguanas and seals too. 😊

Dear friends, you need to visit Los Gemelos craters too. It's mean twin, that's why there is 2 craters, two sides of the main road. They're so deep, little forests consist there and make you fascinate when you see it. Be careful to craters attitude please, trust me no one wants to fall inside it!

Another place for visiting is Tunel de Lava. Yes, like your got it, it's mean lava tunnel.😊 Lava flowing from volcano formed this place, guys. Lighting is really good inside of tunnel and their ceiling height is good to for visiting comfortably. Won't to regret for visit!

Rancho Primicias-Giant Tortoise Reserve is a place for visit, dear friends. It's like a park, really green and awesome view for hiking. You can see big turtles too in here but you don't need to touch them. Also you shouldn't approach them more than 2 meters! You can drink and eat something of the restaurant too. You'll fall in love there, guys! 😊

Lastly, dear friends! Foods of Santa Cruz island are genarally little portions and unfortunately not awesome like San Cristobal island. These are tasty too but not awesome and big portions. We always ate in the hotel restaurant but maybe city restaurants can be big portions, i don't know. Moreover, absolutely drink fresh coconut water! It's so famous and tasty, 1 coconut water is make you full as very well, believe me. This island internet is really, reeeaaalllyyy slow too. Many of time you can't doing video call like San Cristobal island.

Never put all of Galapagos islands specific-products -like flowers- in your luggage before leaving from islands dear friends! They're extensive search to your suitcase and sometimes they want to see your suitcase. That's why you may have to open your backpacks and suitcases. Also don't forget to before you go and when you arrived in Galapagos, they're extensive search to you!
