The Guide About Westernmost city of Turkey: Çanakkale!
Hello guys! I’ll explain everything of my hometown in this article. I know, who is talking about Turkey, you think of ‘İstabul’ directly. And time after time that subject make you bored. That’s why i want to distroy this topic! Turkey mean is not just İstanbul, Bodrum, Ankara, Antalya or Cappadoccia. There is a lot awesome cities and places like these cities too. For example and this article topic; Çanakkale city.
If
you reading this article in your first time and do not recognize me; i’m Ertuğ.
I’m from western of Turkey, Çanakkale city. Actually i don’t count because, i’m
from the other side of Çanakkale, so European side; Kilitbahir village. I’ll talk about this subject later. We meet now
J Anyway, i’m a traveller, camper, musician and
author. I love to discover new places, food and drink cultures, ancient and
historical things and stayed secret beauties. You can trust me relaxly because
i discovered %90 of Turkey. But this is not our subject now J
Well,
now you know me! So we can turn back our topic. Kilitbahir is my hometown, i
said this. Firstly i wanna give some information about Kilitbahir. There is
located in Gallipolli peninsula in
Çanakkale city. This peninsula is also located European continent. So you can
think like İstanbul, it is a brigde of Asia and Europe between. Only İstanbul
and Çanakkale have two continents in Turkey. If you follow Europe side in
İstanbul to Çanakkale, you’ll find yourself in Gelibolu peninsula. And if you
want to follow more, you can come to my hometown. J
Kilitbahir
is 10 minutes away from Çanakkale with ship. Distance is only 1 km.
Unfortunately we haven’t a bridge like İstanbul. Actually now building a bridge
but it will be away to us. Because that bridge will be between Gallipolli(Europe) and Lapseki (Asia) districts. It’s ok, no
problem for us. J Anyway, let’s talking about
more.
Kilitbahir’s
air is so clear. You can hiking in the forest if you want or you can swimming
in the clear sea. I mention that; we have a beach in our village but this is
private. So it’s not special for village
people. Everyone can go inside after pay. J It’s a clue for you; don’t
forget to watch sunset while eat your dinner or drink something!
Well,
dear readers! Also you can visit old casttles from World war 1 in my hometown.
There is 2 old casttles and a lot of bulwarks. You’ll really surprize when you
saw, believe me. I hate wars but stayed things from wars make me surprized
always. Bulwarks built according to war strategies still show us how smart
people are. You’ll be shock too, if you visit my hometown and saw these
bulwarks.
Alright guys! If i extend more
about my hometown, we will never finish this article. J That’s why i should mention about Çanakkale again. Dear
friends; Çanakkale have 12 districts. Such a big, right? Yeah, Çanakkale is not
a small city. This city biggest than İstanbul as acreage. (Çanakkale 9.737 km², İstanbul 5.343 km²) Çanakkale
is famous from Troy ancient city
too. A movie calling name ‘Troy’ also shoted in this land. That ancient city is
located Ezine district. You can see
the Troy horse in the center of Çanakkale but that horse used from movie. So
that horse not original. But if you want to see Original Troy horse, you can
visit Troy ancient city too beacuse it’s located in Ezine district also.
Yeah,
let’s look around to touristic places of Çanakkale, what do you think? I’ll
consist a list and talk about that places. I wanna warn you before; Çanakkale
is a SUMMER region for visiting. So,
in winter times you can’t do anything unfortunately! That’s why you should
determind your plan before come dear readers. Well, right now you know this and
we can go on to talking about touristic places J
You have a lot of options to visiting in summer
times in Çanakkale guys! I wanna talkin about first; islands! There is two
islands in Çanakkale. These are ‘Bozcaada’ and ‘Gökçeada’. Bozcaada
island is located North of Agean sea but connected to Çanakkale. It is 3th
biggest island of Turkey. It’s a little island and there is no village in
there. And also it’s a district of Çanakkale and 7 km distance to mainland.
You can visit Bozcaada for smells to history,
tasty fishes, sea products and apetizers, swimming to ultra-clean Agean sea,
fascinating island atmosphere and winds and tasty handmade a lot of type of
wines from organic island grapes. Also there is organic goat-sheep cheeses,
really tasty green-black grapes. So you can eat these while you drink your
tasty wine. Please do not forget to visit old casttle in there too, it’s have
awesome agean sea view, you’ll see. J
