Have a good day, dear friends! How are you? I hope everything is alright.☺ I'm here again a new Turkish traditional soup for you! It call mercimek çorbası and it mean red lentil soup. You can find it in every traditional, local restaurants all around of Turkey. It's so common and not only Turkish people prefer it, many of foreigners love it too when they taste it. It's soft, tasty and feedly. I think easy to cook too.☺

Well, red lentil is a kind of grains and unfortunately find to difficult some countries. In this reason, a lot of people can't find it their countries. But, if you have red lentil in your country, definitely cook it in your house! Or if your country it hasn't, you can delivery it from Turkey.☺ Believe me, you'll love it and always wanna cook it.☺

Dear friends, this soup is very feedly and it will be perfect meal for you. You can eat it in every meals of you but if you ask my opinion and Turks, generally we eat our breakfast or our dinner as starting. If you eat this soup your dinner as starting, it will be block your stomach and won't eat too much your dinner. That's why your dinner will be not heavy and after your eat won't be your stomach full and you can fall asleep in front of the TV.☺

Alright, another topic is cooking process for red lentil soup. I said, it's a traditional soup of Turkey and it can be change to cooking process in some regions. It can be change generally for spices! But some regions add tomato or pepper paste and some regions not, someone use flour someone not, many of people use blender but many of people just drain in this soup too. That's why, i'm gonna share more possible one for foreigners, so for you!☺

Yeah, dear friends! We talked about this soup and we can pass to recipe now. Firstly we're starting prepare to foods for cooking this soup. We need to potato, onion, carrot, garlic, spices and red lentil of course.☺Guys, if you haven't a blender of your house, run to buy a new blender, quickly! I'm gonna waiting for you until you come to home. Unfortunately you can't make it if you haven't a blender!

If we want to perfect consistency of our soup, we need to measure to foods as very well. It's a big clue! For example, 1 glass of red lentil is perfect consistency for 6 same glasses of drinkable water. So, we need to measure everything is same glass or spoon. Let's take a look foods and spices with their measures now 👇

200 ml glass of red lentil

          * 6, 200 ml glasses of drinkable water

          * 1 middle size of potato

          * 1 middle size of carrot

          * 1 middle size of onion

          * 3 large clove of garlic

          * 1 spoon of salt

          * Half spoon of black pepper

          * Half spoon of spicy or non-spicy paprica

   For it sauce 👇

          * 5 spoon of olive oil

          * 1,5 spoon of sweet paprica powder

For serving it: 1 of lemon

Dear friends, it will be for 4 people. If your vegetables and everyhing is ready, we can prepare them. We're putting our 1 glass of red lentils a suitable bowl for wash. I talked about it, it's a kind of grains and we need to wash it first inside of the bowl. Did you see white water? Yeah, it's not good for our stomach! We need to wash them 3-4 times more and take a hand-sieve for drain. After drain them, put another place for drain more. In this duration, we can peel of our vegetables and cut them as little of middle size.

Yeah, everything is ready dear friends! Now, we put everyting a big pot and then add 6 glasses of drinkable water. We can light to our stove as middle heat until their boil and after boil we set it up our stove as low fire! If we doesn't set it low fire while their boil, our boiling water will overflow! It's very important thing and sooo dangerous. Please be careful this.

Guys, our soup will cook between 45 minutes to 1 hour. Please don't leave the kitchen because red lentils give too much bubbles on the soup. We need to take them often. It's bad things of grains, if we doesn't take them, we will feel too much gas of our stomach after eat it! It's another clue for you!☺

Alright, dear friends! Our soup is almost ready. In this duration we need to add salt and spices. You can close to stove when vegetables are soft. You can try to crash of your potatoes and carrots with your spoon. If them crashing so easy, it mean your soup is ready! Now we can prepare of our blender. We're blending to our soup middle of the pot. We need to blending up and down while blender work. When the vegetables blended and your soup looks smooth, you soup is ready!

It finished? No, just your soup finished! Now, we need to prepare of our soup sauce. Frankly, it's entirely up to you. So, if you wanna eat your soup with thier sauce, you can prepare. But if you don't wanna sauce, you can't prepare! Sauce is give your soup more taste, that's it. Well, let's prepare sauce now.

We put 5 spoons of olive oil a sauce pot and light to stove low heat. Be careful in this duration because olive oil burn soooo easy! Always we need to control it, and add to sweet paprica powder. Non-stop mixing with our spoon, another option it burn our sauce so easily. When your sauce change to color and smells good, you need to close your stove, it's ready!☺

Please choose to good bowl for you and put your rested soup of your beautiful bowl. 1 or 2 spoons add your sauce of your bowl and don't forget to squeeze lemon! Bon appetite, and another saying; 'afiyet olsun' in Turkish, dear friends!☺
